If you hit somebody (a difficulty based on range or a static defence modifier for melee) then armor subtracted from damage, but would still give you a point of brusing damage. Armor might protect you from the worst of falling out of a low-speed vehicle by dealing with road-rash but you'd still get some bruises. Fall out of a window and the benefit of armor was negligible. Some weapons were so devastating that armor was but a blip in their flightpath, some weapons (knives, some bullets) pierced armor (a simple mathematical formula handled that) and some weapons would bruise you to death (yes, your armor can stop a .22 bullet dead, but getting hit by 80 .22 bullets in a one second period is enough to kill you
through internal hemoraging alone).

Having different defences is also a way to handle it. Armor Class for what armor and shields are good at, a defense for dodging and diving out of the way of spells/guns/etc that can be used in place of AC, etc.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09767099718851561504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18095130.post-1444333053703574872013-02-20T23:45:22.037-08:002013-02-20T23:45:22.037-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09767099718851561504noreply@blogger.com
